Rescue Mission

Katie walked onto the lawn this morning, right into the path of Owen's sprinkler, and promptly sat down. There she sat, being rained on, until I finally ran into the water myself and got her out safely. The water was aimed at the garden behind her so she was directly in the path of the spray. As you can see, she doesn't mind getting wet. I think both of my kids were fish in a former life.

Swimming Lessons

I'm going to make this quick because everyone is quiet right now but that's bound to change any minute. Owen and Caroline had swimming lessons this morning and I finally brought the camera with me. Here are some cute pics I took.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

This past week we've been stuck in the house because of cold or wet weather quite a few times and many of our days have looked like this...

and this...
Katie and Owen actually laid themselves down like that... I think she was mimicking him. Anyway, today is a beautiful day! Owen is out playing with a sprinkler toy... And Dan is mowing the lawn around him. We actually just got this lawnmower the other day. Our town has a "Take it or Leave it" day every year. People get to drop off their "junk" and help themselves to other people's "junk." It's amazing what people think junk is. We got this lawnmower and a trimmer, both in excellent condition and fairly new. The mower needed a new air filter. I can't quite fathom getting rid of an almost new mower. I guess I shouldn't be cynical, maybe the people were buying a new one and decided to give it away rather than selling it. Anyway, regardless of the reasons, it worked out fabulously for us.

Waaaaay Overdue...

I know I know, as usual I've been horrible about posting. First life was just really busy, my birthday and Owen's birthday and a party to get ready for. Then I read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. As soon as I picked up the first book I was lost to the world. Seriously, I began it on a Monday morning and finished the 4th and last book in the series on Friday afternoon, it was that good. Then, after checking in with my family to make sure they were okay, I picked up the first book and started all over again. Needless to say, this second time around I've been going slower and skipping all the sad parts. There is a ton of stuff to share with all of you but I'm going to drag it out over a few days I think. I'll give you two cute pictures of the kids.... Katie wearing her first barrette... it makes her look like such a little girl! Owen, Tommy, and Caroline showing off the capes I made them for his Superhero themed birthday party. I think Tommy may have been a bit sick of the paparazzi at this point.
